The Jandy JXiQ JXIQ400PK heats pools and spas using propane and a copper heat exchanger. Factory-installed VersaFlo directs water through the exchanger when heating is needed and bypasses it when heating is off.

Fuel and heater sizing
This is the propane configuration. Confirm that your supply matches before ordering. Gas-heater BTU input is the fuel input rating; usable heat output also depends on thermal efficiency. Pool volume, starting water temperature, desired warm-up time and heat loss determine the capacity needed.
Installation requirements
A qualified installer should confirm gas-line capacity and pressure, electrical supply, water flow, equipment clearances and installation altitude. Indoor installations need the correct manufacturer-approved venting arrangement. Check the existing pad and plumbing connection positions when replacing another heater; matching BTU size alone does not guarantee a direct fit.
Complete the installation
Site-specific gas fittings, electrical work, venting accessories and installation labor are separate. Maintain the manufacturer's water-balance targets and keep the circulation system in good condition to protect the heat exchanger.
