Choosing the right heat pump
This model can heat and cool the water. Heating BTU figures describe heating performance; cooling capacity is a separate specification. Have your installer size the unit using pool surface area, volume, target temperature, local climate and seasonal use. A model's BTU rating alone does not predict the time needed to warm your pool.
Installation planning
Allow open airflow around the cabinet and discharge area, a suitable equipment pad and a route for condensation drainage. Verify supply voltage, circuit capacity and the required water-flow range before ordering. Existing plumbing may need valves or a bypass to keep flow within the manufacturer's limits. Site-specific electrical and plumbing materials and installation labor are separate.
Day-to-day performance
A heat pump draws warmth from outdoor air, so heating output and efficiency change with air temperature, humidity and pool-water temperature. Cooler conditions generally require longer operation. Keep air paths clear and maintain balanced water to protect the heat exchanger.
